Flub's Dari-ette

While you are up north visiting Jungle Jim's, stop by Flub's Dari-ette for some delicious ice cream. Flub's is the oldest family-run ice cream parlor. They usually have about 6-8 flavors of soft serve, and also serve banana splits, floats, milk shakes, sundaes, and slushies. Our favorite are the cyclones, which is vanilla soft serve with any number of toppings added in. They have over 30 varieties of cyclones, or you can create you own. Flub's prices are reasonable, and the deserts are always delicious! :)

Jungle Jim's International Market

Head on up north of the city for a shopping experience unlike any other! Jungle Jim's International Market is...in a word, unique. This grocery store is over 6 acres, and features food, wine, beer, meats, cigars, seafood and baked items from nearly every inch of the globe! Jungle Jim's has recently expanded and now has restaurants, shops (including a Vera Bradley store =) ), and a cooking store.

In 2007, Jungle Jim's was awarded the 2007 Best Restroom Award. Here is a photo of the entrance to their restroom:

They feature an extensive selection of hot sauces, and in early August they host a Weekend of Fire.

Whether you are going for groceries or just something to do, there is something for everyone at Jungle Jim's! Plenty of things to do and look at for kid's of all ages! :)

Make sure you pick up today's edition of the Cincinnati Enquirer. It features a magazine inside featuring summer fun in Cincinnati! Haven't had a chance to read it, but looks interesting and worth a glance!

Zip's Cafe--Mt. Lookout

As the beau of an avid cheeseburger lover, we often must choose restaurants based on their availability of burgers. Zip's Cafe in Mt. Lookout is just the type of place we love--it's cheap and delicious. We both ordered the burgers--at steal at $4/each. Side dishes are not included, but relatively inexpensive. I recommend the cheese fries--Yummy! The restaurant is small, but has a good selection of beers to wash down your burgers with. There is a miniature train track that runs along the side of the wall, which is fun to watch. The menu features mostly derivations of burgers--but includes chicken and turkey sandwhiches too.

Zip's was featured as CityBeat's 2007 "Best Burgers & Fries" winner, and was also featured Food Network's "Cheap Eats" show.

The area surrounding Mt. Lookout is beautiful, perfect for a walk or shopping around. Next door to Zip's is a hobby shop--stop in there! They have a wide selection of board games and puzzles.

If you're in the mood for great burgers and fries, stop by Zip's!
